a brother or sister. An only child has no siblings. A sibling may be: a) each or any one of two or more individuals born to the same parents but not at the same birth: »

Siblings in a family group have special social relationships, not possessed by an only child (Emory S. Bogardus).

b) each or any one of two or more individuals born to the same parents, including twins, triplets, and the like. c) each or any one of two or more individuals having one parent in common. d) any brother or sister adopted into a family.
